Year 10 Guitar Skills

1. What did you find challenging about Guitar skills?

It's hard for me to choose a song to play. A song that will suit my voice while playing the guitar. I practice 7 songs but only played one.

3. Which instrument would you like to focus on next term and why? ( This will be your solo instrument and your voice is your instrument if you want to sing! )

Keyboard/Piano! I love guitar and I already know how to play it since i was 13 but piano is really my dream! I thought playing piano is just a piece of cake but not, it was a difficult one but once you know it, you'll just get along with the notes. I want to develop my skills more and reach my childhood dream!!!

Courage

Slice of Loneliness

Millions of people in the world, in every corner you can see but still feels lonely. This word, this feeling, seems like all of us ends up with this from being with your family, meeting new people, having friends but as grow older, they are like bubbles that pop out, like a fog that fades away, a song that will be gone, a story that is forgotten. Loneliness is the time where you are alone thinking about something but why am I feeling lonely with my family? The loneliness that I feel in this society. At a very young age, my eyes were opened in this misery world, the problems in the world, experiencing the depressions of an adult instead of playing outside, laughing with my friends, living as a carefree kid. I would rather solve math problems and write a hundred page of essay that to feel this loneliness. I envy the kids


Loneliness became my friend, alongside with depression. We’re trios, we communicate, they always visit me that for once I feel like they’re the ones who really love me and not the people around, talking to me with their problems, visiting me in needs of help, calling me because they have no one to talk to. They all rely on me, but what about me? Who can I rely on when everybody leans on me? They say I can talk to them and they would understand, but loneliness and depression took something from me, the courage. I don’t have the courage to express myself, the courage to open my heart, to say it out loud that I’m hurt, mom, I’m depressed, dad, I’m lonely, friends I need you. My courage has been taken away for so long that until now I’m searching for it, hoping someday before I die, I can take all of this thorns in my heart, that someday I can live as person, that loneliness and depression will leave me and the around me will step closer not because they need, not because they want something, but because they love me.

A Bestfriend

What?

A dog that has good hearing and smelling, a dog that can protect you from harm, a dog that can be your security at night, but other than that, a dog you can sleep with, eat with and live with. A dog that you can lean on, play with you, make you smile and even destress you. A dog that is loyal and loves you the most, that sees you as the most precious human in the world 

Why?

Dogs and puppies are adorable and lovable. Playful and messy at times  but still make you happy and smile. How come some people don't love them? They are more trustable. Dogs won't ever leave you, humans are the ones who left them alone, starving and dying on the street. Dogs de-stress you after a long tiring day. Just by hearing your footsteps at the front door, or smelling your precious scent will make their tails wiggle, and jump and bark out of happiness, you can see the joy in their eyes.

What if?

Though their messy, loud, always hungry, attention seeker and too playful at times, dogs bring joy and love, if you feel like, no one loves you, you are wrong if you have a dog. But they can also feel sad and blue, so give your dog the love and care he needs. A dog is a bestfriend you can lean on, they c't understand or talk to us but they can feel us and make us happy.

Spirituals
Generally Christian songs that were created by African Americans.  Spirituals were originally an oral tradition that imparted Christian values while also describing the hardships of slavery. Although spirituals were originally unaccompanied monophonic (unison) songs, they are best known today in harmonised choral arrangements. This historic group of uniquely American songs is now recognised as a distinct genre of music. 

African American spirituals were primarily expressions of religious faith. Some may also have served as socio-political protests veiled as assimilation to white American culture. They believe that through spirituals, God lead and guide them.

Guitar Skills

The guitar''s roots go way back to 15th-century Malaga in Spain. Its engineering was pioneered by a Spanish black man, who gave just four strings or ''courses'' to his guitar. Thereafter, the instrument went through the Baroque and Classical periods before evolving into the six-stringed, modern-day guitar.

The word guitar comes from the Portugese word ''guitarra'' derived from the Greek word ''kitharra'' that refers to the Greek island of love and poetry, Cythara, which was dedicated to the Roman goddess of love and beauty, Venus.

The guitar evolved from double-strings (courses) to single strings and around the same time, became a 6-string instrument (in Spain, guitars were 6 courses during the 18th century). It was made in 1801 by G.B.Fabricatore and is housed in the Vienna Museum.

The guitar (acoustic) is considered a European-invented instrument that first appeared during the medieval period. The form of the modern classical guitar is credited to Spanish guitar maker Antonio Torres circa 1850.

Keyboard Skills Performance

I chose DESPACITO to  perform in our keyboard skills test in Music because firstly, I know this song very well (as you know it's so much popular), people keep playing it on radios and singing along with it meanwhile the other songs, it's my first to see and heard them so I know if I choose them it will be difficult for me to perform. I also the "What About Us" song but I prefer "Despacito" over that because the melody of that song is too hard for me to play in keyboard and I don't know much of the song that's why.



It's a privilege to play keyboard in front of the class and my teacher, I feel so excited how I will play next week, I hope I don't make even a single tiny mistake. I want to develop more my skill, and share it to others too. I was the last student to perform so I felt pressure and nervous, knowing that it's my turn next. But as took a sit and start putting hands on the keyboard, my nervousness had gone and just smoothly play along.

Next time, I'm going to improve my tempo, I played it slightly slower than the original tempo because I'm confuse in switching chords and keys. So I should practice more and focus If I could play again.

Year 10 Art

TONE- shadowing, darkening, identifying where the light comes from in the picture/drawing, bringing life to the drawing.

I learned a lot in this lesson but I'm still struggling in this technique or style of drawing. I'm used to draw portraits of people from a picture and make black and white to see the shadow and lighting. My skill is developing more through this and I want to challenge my self to master this.

Mrs. Clemence taught us how to draw this bird through anatomy drawing. First, the proportion of the picture, then draw the basic shapes until you get the right size and shape. Finally, you can draw the details and make it realistic or better.
