Day 3 - Summer Learning Journey 3

Activity 2: Bell Bottom Pants

I like their style of jumper-dress with high-socks or boots and a high-waist pants with stylish belt. These two are my personal style, that's how I usually wear for casual events.

I just don't like the patterned pants because I prefer plain pastel colours. And also I don't like the excessive long sleeves dresses or shirts, I have small hands and skinny arms so I think it doesn't suits me and it's not my style.

Bonus Activity: A Bilingual Schooling System

Mr. R. Sutton,
Kia Ora!

I have been a student in Hornby High School recently for 3 mos in Year 9. Inside that 3 months of my observation about the school, I noticed some great things that my last school doesn't have, and also some flaws.

One thing that really catches my attention is that students don't know how to greet teachers or elders properly. For example, a teacher is passing by in front of group of students but they didn't seem care just like a stranger that walks by. Greetings is a really good value that students or children should learn. I'm hoping that students of Hornby will adapt this habit of respect.

Pono koutou,
Lovely Tabuena

Day 2 - Summer Learning Journey 3

Activity 1: The Dawn of Television

My favourite TV Programme these days is 'I Can See Your Voice'. It's where a daily celebrity-singer guess if who among the contestants are real see-ngers (singers) or see-ntunado (out of tune, sintunado in tagalog). Then there are also celebrities who help the player to guess it right, they are called Soco, and the host ofcourse. The contestants must their best to satisfy the player that they are real singers.

Actually this show originated in South Korea then Philippines also had this kind of show to make people laugh, too. Both South Korea and Philippines show are funny. My family and I always enjoy this show, we watch the episodes online if there's a new release. In the Philippines, it's on Abs-Cbn Channel, in South Korea it's on Mnet Channel.

Day 1 - Summer Learning Journey 3

Activity 1: Meat and Three Veg

This kind of rule seems interesting for me, I hope this can be done in our home too because it will help my diet. I'm trying to loose some weight, a person like me can't be overweight or fat though I really like eating because of my personal reason. And also I don't want to have big body, it doesn't suit my face after all.

Activity 2: What's in a name?

Yes, in my recent school, Christine and John are popular names, I don't know the other because I'm just a new student. But in my last school in the Philippines, Christine, Joy and Mae/May are the most popular names among girls. While John, Joshua, and Justin and Angelo are the most popular names among boys.

Bonus:

This is my postcard. I put the BT21 characters made by BTS, my idol boy band group. Then I put a Kiwi bird and a Kiwi fruit since I'm here in New Zealand. If I will send letters to my friend in the PH, just by looking at the postcard, she will  know that it's from me without putting my name on it. So, as you can see, all of my blog posts we're like at some points have BTS thing, it's because I really admire them aside of their really handsome faces, I admire their music and their personalities.

Day 5 - Summer Learning Journey 2

Activity 2: Making a Fashion Statement

Obviously, it's different. Fashion today is more like showing bodies, especially to woman and I hate those kind of style. Most girls today hate wearing dresses except for prom or debut. They think these are old fashioned and out of style but for me, it's much better to wear formal decent clothes.

I think after 65 years from now, most people are wearing in suits and mini skirts, v-necks, super shorty-shorts, probably some will only wear underwear-like clothes and in high heels.

  Bonus: Sweet tooth

My favourite sweet treat ever are chocolate brownies, I can't resist their smell and taste. Plus a fresh milk.

Here is what I found in google. An easy recipe of brownies using microwave only, if you don't have oven.

Day 3 - Summer Learning Journey

Activity 1: Dealing with Stress

Stress is my number one enemy so as I grow up, I discover many things how to get rid of them. I do many things actually, I do what I love doing and I love what I do. I made this quote myslef,

"Do what you love, and love what you do"

Doing things that you really enjoy helps me de-stress. Like, fangirling over BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), A KPOP Group in South Korea, their song comforts me and understands me, I also watch their extra videos and MVs, I loved their concept that lead me being a bookworm. I'm reading Demian: The Youth of Sinclair; this story is connected to the concept of BTS, and also The One Who Walk Away From Omelas. Since I was a child, I really love reading. I also do arts to keep stress away, like drawing portraits of people. I also do journal as my personal and unique friend. I listen to music, especially the songs of BTS, ofcourse. Then, I pray and read bible, as you know I'm a Christian. Sometimes, I watch videos of animals, I'm an animal lover, I used to have a pet dog and cats, they really help me de-stress. I also sing, like having my own concert inside my room, I sing with BTS, I dance and exercise.

These are the things I usually do. I hope you can pick up something that can help you.

Activity 2: Offering a Helping Hand

-Tell the other people around the world about what's happening, and they can donate their old stuffs to them.

- Do Fun Run!!!

-Sell recycled things. Make Baskets out of old newspapers then sell it. I personally do this at home coz I want to help reduce waste for our planet.

Bonus:

I would bring cookies and milk. It's really old here in New Zealand though sometimes it's also hot, but more often it's cold. This is a perfect snack to share with them. Or It could be mushroom soup or Sinigang (Filipino Food), it has a hot delicious soup with veggies and pork!

Day 2 - Summer Learning Journey 2

Activity 1: Popular Culture - The Silent Movie

Charlie Chaplin is one of my favourite comedy movies when I was a kid. I used to watch them with my family. Just like Mr. Bean, they make people laugh without using words. Anyone can enjoy this kind of movie, from children to adult, or a deaf person can be happy by watching this.

I always enjoy funny silent movies, especially Charlie Chaplin and Mr. Bean. But if the genre is drama, action or horror, ofcourse I would much love it to have sounds and talks.

Activity 2: Art Deco

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - It's indeed a good painting. I appreciate the art and effort put into this obra maestra. But this kind of paintings is not my style, for me it's just a classic painting - a fierce woman driving. This is my personal opinion only, I do not intend to hurt or offend someone.

Bonus: Crossing the Tasman

Words are not enough to be grateful
To God who lead and guide us
We thought that was our last
But my faith is more powerful.

For me, it would be happy to have a big family, or live with many family members and siblings, but thinking practically, the finance budget of supporting will be harder for us, especially for my parents.
